first day of summer

happy first day of summer!

since I live in florida, it's difficult to distinguish this day any different from the last 90 days. we have summer all year round. how do you people live anywhere else? :)

I was thinking the other day that I have been doing a really slack job on my "22 things to do" list. I mean really slack girls. like, I don't think I've even started. so with that being said, I've decided to make a list of 10 things to get done this summer.

my summer to do list.
1) go here:
harry potter world.
2) read 8 books.
    I'm already down 2 so I think that's a good start.
3) work out at least 3 times a week.
I just bought Body by Bethanny. she's crazy and it's just yoga but it's kicking my butt.
4) drink so much more water.
I've started to believe that diet pepsi is just as good as water. it's bad.
5) take a trip over to tampa for the weekend to hang out with Melinda.
those mini vacas that just do a world of difference.
6) bake this with Josie:

happy forth of july!
7) create an actual office and guest room.
it's so bad that I wont even post pictures of those rooms right now, in fear that you'll think I'm a pack rat. which I am. and Sonny's been so great with me. but I have got to get those rooms together!
8) only watch 30 min of tv during the day.
seriously. night time is different, but when the sun is out I feel guilty sitting on my butt inside!
9) worry NO MORE about money.
    because the beach if free.
10) limit eating out to 3 days a week.
we eat out way to much. plus summer means grills and corn on the cob!

so there it is. not anything to tough. I may be cheating a bit because: I'll be at harry potter world in a little less than two weeks! because: my best friend in the whole world is coming.

do you have any to dos for this summer? I'd love to hear them!

off to soak up that free sunshine!

top ten: tuesday

Tuesday: music.

summer for me can always be remembered by what music I listened too. everything from road trips, to the beach, to just getting lunch all have theme songs for me. so here are my lists of summer favorites! enjoy!

top ten songs to make my summer awesome-
1. three little birds: bob marley. i could just do all 10 bob songs, but i'll put in some variety.
2. dancing in the moonlight: toploader. easily one of my favorite songs. ever.
3. always be my baby: mariah carey. best when turned up too loud and the windows rolled down.
4. water: brad paisley. just jump in the water.
5. forever: chris brown. first song played at my wedding.
6. send me on my way: rusted roots. the song from matilda.
7. carry this picture for luck: dashboard confessional. because a good whinny band is great sometimes!
8. you and me: dave matthews band. i'll see them in concert one day.
9. o praise Him: david crowder band. on the beach, looking at the waves. done deal.
10. you and i both: jason mraz. love him.

top ten country songs to enjoy summer with-
1. ticks: brad paisley. my sisters and i see him every summer.
2. fearless: taylor swift.
3. change: taylor swift. yet again, the whole list can be taylor but variety is good.
4. American honey: lady antebellum. i'll see them soon too.
5. no shoes, no shirt, no problem: kenny chesney. too cute.
6. quitter: carrie underwood. she's married, i'm married...we have a lot in common.

8. chicken fried: zac brown band. my hillbilly coming out with this one.
9. mean: taylor swift. do you get that i love her?
10. forever and ever amen: randy travis. fell in love with him at a young age.

so there you have it. in case you needed any new ideas for summer music...I hope I've helped you out...unless you hate country music, then I'm of no help.

Play Ball!

Baseball: America's favorite past time.

Who doesn't love a good baseball game with a hot dog and a cold drink?!
For dads birthday Friday night, we all headed up to the ball park to enjoy a Spring Training game! I've never been to a Spring Training game before, just over to the stadium to cheer on those Brevard Manatees! I must say, for Brevard county I was impressed with the turn out!

The game didn't go so well for the Washington Nationals, but the time we got to spend together was great.

Family: those people in your life that drive you insane, and you wouldn't have it any other way.

God has blessed me beyond measure with the most amazing family in the world (and it keeps growing!). I like to think that we're a normal family, but if you ask anyone whose been around us for a period of time, they'll tell you that we're anything but.
We're dysfunctional.
We argue.
We make fun of each other.
We avoid our mom when we did something wrong (still).
We always go to dad first to ask permission.
We always wanted more growing up, even though our parents gave us the moon.

As crazy as we are though, we're still family. The strongest bond between any people.

And boy are we bonded with each other! This is where I be honest: we're too close for comfort. But I wouldn't change it for the world.
We love each other more than anything.
Because our parents loved us more than anything.

I couldn't imagine what life would be like with out a family like mine.

Anybody a fan of that great tv show Everybody loves Raymond? Great show huh, with the funny parents that are always at the sons house.
Yep well I think we could start a show called Everybody loves the Hollowells.

God has just blessed my sister and brother in law with the opportunity to move...right across from grandma and grandpa!

Being a close family just went up a whole nother level.

Here's to bbqs and nights spent in the pool!
