day 2 {a beg to move}

Ephesians 4:1

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. (NLT)

do you know that God has called you by name to live the life He's given you?

just your name, and no one else.

maybe we don't know exactly what He's calling us to do...but He's calling nonetheless.

i love paul. his life is one that i can read and read about and everything be more inspired. because as Christ followers, what gets more inspiring then a guy who gets arrested for sharing the gospel, and while he's in jail doesn't ever give up, but write half of the new testament.

is this mic on?

chapter four starts off with paul begging, not just asking but begging us to live a worthy life. he's sitting in chains writing to us, begging us to move.

the message says it like this: i want you to get out there and walk-better yet, run!-on the road God called you to travel.

are we running?

to be honest, i feel like i'm working on a jog.

God has been pouring out the blessings on my life but i know that i'm not running with them. which means that i'm not really living the life i've been called to life.

ouch.

but that doesn't me that i/we can't.

sometimes it makes me laugh when Christ followers make things so difficult. i mean, do we not all realize that The Book we have, has all the answers? it's like the cheat sheet to a test. there's no way to fail at life with Gods Word.

ok, so if Gods Word is our map for life, how do we know what He's called us to do?

i have no idea. seriously. i have no idea.
but what i do know is that through a lot of prayer, we'll get there. and a lot of listening to God.

and this means we have to give God the opportunity to speak to us. this is something i need to work on.

friends, paul is begging us to realize that our lives are like his. no, we're not sitting in jail (or maybe you are), but we do all follow the same Lord he was talking about. we, just like him, were created by the same Creator. we, just like him, have the ability to spread the gospel. and for the very high majority of us...won't end up in jail for it.

God is calling. daily. are you listening?

challenge: give God the opportunity to call you. turn things off, make time for Him. when we ask, He'll answer. we just have to listen.

Fun Fact Friday

all i had to post today was my picture for the photo challenge, but thanks to the beautiful ms mary i've decided to take part in her fun fact friday! i know you're just as excited as i am :)

so without further adieu, my fun facts:

1. i don't wear makeup. in fact, i don't even own eye liner. occasionally i'll throw on some mascara and some eye shadow but that's about it.

2. indie music makes me feel cool, and makes me think of fall. which is why i'm all over it right now.

3. driving a car freaks me out. seriously.

4. i just started volunteering at our churches youth group and i am over the moon about it. watching teen agers raise their hands during worship will send chills up your spin.

5. i have a 'couple wear rule' when it comes to jeans. one time wearing them does not get them a trip to the laundry room.

6. i get jealous really easily.

7. when i was a kid i used to have my mom put on movies so i could act them out, while it was playing. my little sister was always forced to be the odd ball character, because of course i was always dorthy, or belle.

8. i hate long nails. it grosses me out when i can feel my nail past my finger tip. ew. thinking about it gives me the creeps. i often refer to my nails as a 5 year old boys nails (same with toes).

9. i could watch how to loose a guy in 10 days for a week straight.

10. i can not WAIT for fall to be over because that means WINTER and my BIRTHDAY and CHRISTMAS! (sorry i'm a fall hater)

i'm currently procrastinating in studying for a test that i'm not to confident about taking anyways.

so, i'll tell you that i had a really great work out. biggest loser dvd, cardio max. go buy it now and thank me later. i'm not looking to be buff but just makes me feel healthy.

thanks to a great blogging friend i've just discovered The Civil Wars, and i can't stop listening to them.

which is making get back into all the indie music i love. which makes me think of fall and cold weather. so i'm starting to put together a fall play list to share with you!

hello dear friend!

i have no idea where the last three weeks have gone. and i'm still not sure if i've actually grasped the idea that school has started.

BUT! i have the most excellent news to report to you all about big Sonny (father in law). he is home with a new healthy heart! the surgery went so beyond well! we're still praising God for such an amazing outcome. it still blows my mind to think that the doctor healed his broken heart (aww), medicine will always fascinate me. i wrote a blog over here about the faith it took us to get through those couple of weeks.

life lately has just been nonstop. so to fill you in, heres some pics from the good old iphone.
