I find myself all too often thinking "calm down it's not that bad" or "it could be worse".
Anyone else?
Each day is a gift, so why do I take a single one for granted? Like today, I let my schedule for work ruin my lovely day off with my hubby. Thankfully he loves me enough to just put up with me, but I think I end up getting more upset at myself than I do at the situation.
Why even complain? I have a job.
Why let it ruin my day?
Oh, because I'm human.
And then, because God has an awesome sense of humor...I walked past this in Target:
Seriously, keep calm and carry on.
If we stop and think about what we're getting so frustrated with, can we really justify the reason behind the frustration?
Most days, I can't.
I'm almost finished with One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. It is an unbelievable book, an easy read, and one that keeps your attention. She is a HUGE inspiration, and has such a gift for writing. If you've never read it, I recommend it to you...OR YOU COULD JUST ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!
Ok, I'm terrible at keeping things from people! And I couldn't wait to tell you what I had decided on for a giveaway! Look for the post tomorrow to enter!
Back to my point...the book is all about the gifts God gives us each day, and how we need to not only embrace them more, but when we realize how much He gives us, we need to be so thankful in return.
Yes, life gives us rotten lemons sometimes, but at least we got those lemons.
So lets take the rotten lemons and make them beautiful too!
Also, we saw Thor today...not as bad as I thought it would be. :) Happy Monday!
