mommy.

there's a bond between a mother and daughter that can't ever be broken.

sure, the teenage years will try to break it.
but we'll all soon realize, she was right anyways.

it's a bond that was formed way before we ever said hello to the world, and one that won't ever end.

it makes late nights better.
tears that fall, feel a little less awful.

it makes life's big moments even bigger.
a celebration for even the littlest of things.

it makes growing up hard,
because all you want to do is go back to the days when it was just you two.

it's a bond that i'm so thankful to have.

at twenty four, i've lost count of how many times i've heard someone in my family tell me, "you're just like your mother". of course at first i rolled my eyes and yelled back, "no way!"
proving their point.

but now.
now i look for those words.
you're just like your mother.

thank God.

because there aren't a lot of people i'd like to be like.

strong. courageous. outgoing. beautiful. faithful.

i'm thankful to be like my mother.

and strive to be more like her every day.

one day, she'll get to teach me how to be the perfect mom she's been to me.

happy mothers day mommy. i love you so much!
